Here you will find information about applying for a visa if you wish to go to Germany and stay longer than 90 days.
National Visa
Please note that visa questions/applications will be handled in Stockholm only. Our honorary consuls cannot help you in this matter.
Now available: Online application for all national visa
For trips to Germany exceeding 90 days (e.g. family reunion, employment, studies etc.) case you can apply for the visa online via the Consular Services Portal of the Federal Foreign Office. After you have uploaded the application form and the necessary documents, your documents will be checked in advance to ensure they are complete and questions can be clarified via the portal before the actual appointment at the embassy. Once your application is complete, book an appointment online at your diplomatic mission using the link you received.
During the appointment at the embassy, only your identity will be verified, you will have to submit your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) and the fee will have to be paid.

- Thoroughly read through the applicable information sheet below.
- Make an account at the Consular Service Portal: http://www.digital.diplo.de/
- Once your application is complete, book an appointment online at your diplomatic mission using the link you received. Be on time for your appointment. If you are delayed or cannot attend the appointment, please cancel the appointment at least three days in advance.
If you have difficulties speaking German, Swedish or English with us, please bring an interpreter.
